Shipping and handling policy for US customers

F.O.B
All deliveries are made F.O.B. point of shipment with no guarantee of delivery at or to destination. Purchaser must make claim for any shortage or damage in transit directly against the carrier. 

Method and routing
ABB will select method of transportation and routing. If alternative routing specified by purchaser involves any expense in excess of that incurred by routing prescribed by company, that excess amount will charged to purchaser or shipment will be made collect. No allowance is made for cartage.

Prepaid shipments
Where shipment is prepaid, charges will be paid to the first destination which is a recognized freight station (including local delivery provided carrier makes no extra charge for this service).

Collect
Purchaser may request collect shipments, unless not acceptable to the carrier. At company's option, shipments may be collect. This includes all shipment modes.

Customer pickup
Order pickup at warehouses and factory of origin will only be allowed with prior notification and approval of facility.

Shipping and handling charges
Shipments from all warehouse facilities and manufacturing plants will be invoiced in accordance with the company's national and regional shipping and handling rates. Charges will be prepaid and added to each invoice based on actual weight of each shipment unless collect terms are specified.

Same day shipments
The company will make every effort to process premium same day shipments (on available material) when requested and entered by the applicable carrier cut-off time. Same day shipment orders will receive priority handling and will be routed only through a premium freight service (Air freight, Courier, Pick up, etc.) Depending on routing, freight charges may be collect or prepaid and added to the invoice. Credit hold or credit check customer orders cannot use this option.

After hours charge
If you or your customer have an emergency breakdown requiring a replacement product after hours, weekends or holidays contact your local district office for after hours support. A fee of $250 will be charged for opening the warehouse during non-business hours.
