Baldor Awards $171,000 to Children of Employees

Fort Smith, Ark. – The Baldor Electric Company Foundation recently awarded $171,000 in scholarships to 57 students who are children of Baldor Electric Company employees across the nation. The $3,000 competitive scholarships were granted to students for the 2014/2015 school year, and their families work in 17 different Baldor locations in the United States.

“Baldor believes strongly in the value of education,” said Ron Tucker, Baldor’s Chief Executive Officer and President. “Through our onsite training and tuition reimbursement programs for employees and the scholarship program for their children, we are helping our families improve their knowledge and skills at all ages.”

The Baldor scholarship program has been in place for 5 years. During that time, 316 scholarships worth $818,500 have been awarded. The program is open to dependent children of U.S. employees who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire next academic year.

The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of Scholarship America. The Baldor Electric Company Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The application period for the 2015/2016 school year will open in November 2014.
