ABB High Inertia Motors for Large Fan Applications
With an increase in the demand for larger horsepower motors capable of starting loads with inertias that exceed NEMA standard values, Baldor is glad to introduce availability of the new ABB high inertia motors for large fan applications.
All of ABB’s high inertia motors for axial fan applications have stall times longer than their start times in normal operating conditions. The motors are available in 6-10 poles and are designed in accordance with NEMA standards.
The horsepower range is 7000-18500 HP within frame sizes 710-900. They can be supplied up to 13.2 kV 60 Hz and also have options for multiple enclosure arrangements such as WPII, TEWAC and TEAAC. The motors are designed to start loads with inertia levels as high as three times the published NEMA MG-1 chart and the service factor (SF) is 1.15, with a class F temperature rise.
