Baldor Plant Achieves Safety Milestone
Baldor Electric Company, a member of the ABB Group, is pleased to recognize the employees in its Fort Smith motor plant for having worked more than 14 million hours without a lost day away from work due to a work-related injury or illness. Approximately 1,250 employees accomplished this record between August 10, 2010 and December 15, 2015.
Mike Ballman, Director of Health, Safety and Environmental for Baldor, said, “We are proud of all of our employees for keeping safety a focus every day. We are particularly pleased with the accomplishment of the Fort Smith employees. Achieving this record takes dedication, awareness, and a commitment every single day from every person. This team has demonstrated their willingness to change the way they behave in order to make sure everyone goes home unhurt at the end of each shift.”
The Fort Smith motor plant, which produces 25,000 1-20 horsepower industrial electric motors each week, has been in its current location for 44 years. Baldor has been a member of the ABB Group since 2011.
