Baldor.com Privacy Policy and Your Privacy Rights

General

This Privacy Policy describes the practices that Baldor Electric Company (referred to hereinafter as “Baldor” or “we”) follows with respect to the collection and use of information submitted on Baldor.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy applies only to information we collect from this Site, and does not apply to any other website or business activity of Baldor. By using our Site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by us.

We reserve the right to revise this policy at any time. When we do, we will give you notice of the revised Privacy Policy by posting the revised Privacy Policy on the Site and by revising the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are responsible for regularly reviewing the current privacy policy.

Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California customers to request certain information regarding our disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. The law provides that we may (1) respond to this request by proving certain information about our disclosures, or (2) maintain an opt-out or opt-in procedure, by providing customers with a cost-free means to exercise that right. Information We Collect

We collect “personally identifiable information” and “automatic information.” “Personally identifiable information” is information that tells us who you are, such as your first and last name, company affiliation, company title, home or other physical address, e-mail address, phone number, or facsimile number. We may collect personally identifiable information when you:

  1. register to attend customer education classes;
  2. subscribe to ou r publications, including e-mail alerts;
  3. register with our Site;
  4. communicate with us by e-mail;
  5. request additional product or service information via forms on our Site; and/or
  6. complete online forms.

You can choose not to provide personally identifiable information to us. If you do not provide such information, you can still visit our Site, but you may be unable to access or use certain options and/or services.

“Automatic information” is information automatically collected by our web server (which may be hosted by a third-party) that your web browser makes available whenever you visit our Site, such as your computer’s IP address, browser type, operating system version, and information about the website that you visit before visiting the Site.

This Site also uses "cookies." A cookie is a small text file that a website’s server places on a computer’s web browser. The cookie transmits information back to the website’s server about the browsing activities of the computer user on the site. This includes information such as pages and content viewed, the time and duration of visits, search queries entered into search engines, and whether a computer user clicked on an advertisement. Disclosure and Use of Information We Collect

Personal Information

We use personal information for the purpose for which it is provided (e.g. to confirm class registrations, to respond to your questions or concerns, to send you e-mail alerts, to provide you with requested information or literature, to communicate with you for marketing and promotional purposes via targeted postal pieces or personalized emails, etc.).

We may share personally identifiable information with our affiliates and with our partners, including our exhibitors, sponsors and advertisers, for marketing, advertising, and/or product/service offering purposes.

We may also share this information with third parties who provide a variety of services to us, including without limitation, hosting this Site, providing technical support, processing and storing user information, updating your customer information records in our database (including both physical address and email address verification), and sending or coordinating the sending of marketing communications on our behalf.

While we will seek to require all such third parties to follow appropriate privacy policies consistent with this Privacy Policy, and will not authorize them to use this information except for the express purpose for which it is provided, Baldor does not bear any responsibility for any actions or policies of third parties. We may disclose personally identifiable information to affiliated companies, our parent company and sister companies that are either subject to this Privacy Policy or follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Privacy Policy.

We may disclose personally identifiable information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may have breached our Terms of Useor who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) our rights or property, other users of our Site, or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities.

We may also disclose personally identifiable information when we reasonably believe that the law requires it. We might sell or buy subsidiaries, or business units. In such transactions, personally identifiable information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy. Also, in the unlikely event that our assets are sold, personally identifiable information may be one of the transferred assets.

Automatic Information

We use automatic information to help us run and maintain our Site, customize the visitor’s experience, study traffic patterns and generally learn about the usage of our Site. Additionally, if you register with our Site, we may use this information to personalize our Site based on the preferences you submit to us at the time you register. We also use the aggregated information to evaluate products and services we may offer to you.

We reserve the right to use, transfer, sell, and share aggregated, anonymous data about our users as a group for any business purpose, such as analyzing usage trends and seeking compatible advertisers and partners.

Privacy of Children

The Site is a general audience website. We do not intentionally collect personally identifiable information from users of this Site who are under the age of thirteen (13). If we become aware that a user of our Site is under the age of 13 and has submitted personal information through our Site, we will remove that child’s personal information from our files.

Updating Your Information

If you are a registered user of the BaldorVIP site, you may access and change your edit information by accessing your online account.

Security

We use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information from unauthorized use or disclosure. Unfortunately, information transmitted on the Internet and/or stored on systems attached to the Internet is not 100% secure. As a result, we do not ensure, warrant or guarantee the security or integrity of such information. We will not be responsible for disclosure of any information due to errors in transmission or the unauthorized acts of third parties.

If we issue you an account to access the BaldorVIP site, you can help to maintain the security of your personally identifiable information stored in our systems by keeping your BaldorVIP username and password confidential and protecting against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

Links to Other Websites

While you are using this Site, you may be linked or directed to other third party sites outside of the Site that are beyond our control. Each of these third party sites may have a privacy policy different from ours. For example, you might click on a link or banner ad that will take you off the Site.
