Baldor Super-E^® Motor Wins Gold Award in Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 2011 Product of the Year Contest

Readers of Consulting-Specifying Engineer Magazine have chosen the Baldor•Reliance® Super-E Motor with the AEGIS Shaft Ground Ring as one of the best new products.

The motor, with AEGIS shaft grounding ring mounted inside, is ideal for users looking for a way to prevent bearing damage caused by adjustable speed drive-induced currents, has taken the gold award in its category of HVAC/R in the magazine’s 2011 Product of the Year contest. The award is considered the nonresidential building market’s premier award for new products in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering systems.

While most shaft ground applications utilize a shaft ground on the outside of the motor, the Baldor·Reliance Super-E has the grounding ring uniquely installed internally on the motor. This internal design minimizes exposure to the outside elements and also keeps the ground from being exposed to external forces that might damage the grounding ring.

The annual readers-choice Product of the Year awards were created to provide Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s readers with information about the top new product in their fields.
