As the cost of electricity continues to increase, companies are increasingly focusing their attention on the economics of energy efficiency.
Baldor Electric's early focus on energy efficient motors and long list of OEMs for its motor products provide the company with a unique view into the green building products market. Industrial electric motors represent the single largest end use of electricity in the United States. The Department of Energy recently estimated that 25 percent of the electricity sold is consumed by industrial electric motors. These motors are used to power production processes and heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
